1)      I’m the candidate with executive and leadership experience. I have 25 years of  business experience and have led diverse teams of over one hundred professionals.  I’ve established and met annual budgets (from $250,000 startups to $17 million mature organizations).  I’ve dealt with challenging situations, spoken truth to authority, delivered bad news when necessary, and developed and executed plans that meet objectives.  In the public sector, I’ve taken independent action and organized community support when a need arose (2006 Church Street Christmas, 2007 Recall Campaign).  I’ve also served on several city citizens boards such as the planning commission and the development code review committee.

2)      I’m the “outsider” candidate.  I’m not a former City employee, I’m not related to existing employees.  I  come to office with no obligations or objectives  other than doing what is best for our community, our homes, and our families.

3)      I have no agenda, alliances, or entanglements that will cloud my judgment.   I’m sure my opponent will try to position me as “Hutch Brock, Part 2.”  While Hutch is a good friend, and I’m proud of that association, we spend a fair amount of time debating issues and frequently end up on opposite sides.  As a commissioner, I will ask a wide variety of people for advice, guidance, and opinion, but my decisions will always be my own.
